What Cabinets Are the Best For You?

Depths and Heights

There are a few things to take into consideration when choosing your kitchen cabinets. Two important factors are the height and depth of your cabinets.

Lower base: Standard cabinets are 24 inches deep and 36 inches tall, with the option of increasing depth to 27 inches. You may want to increase the depth of cabinets for storage space or because of your surrounding appliances.

Upper wall: Upper wall cabinets are half as deep as your lower cabinets, at 12 inches deep. Much like lower cabinets, you can increase the depth of the cabinets, but only to 17 inches.
Pantry or Broom Closet: Standing at 83.5 inches, these cabinets serve as a pantry or broom closet.

Quality Grades

There are four different grades of cabinets.

Ready-to-Assemble: are the already constructed and ready to assemble in your home, normally they can be purchased from chain home repair stores. The downside to this quality grade is the limiting of customization and the long-time durability.

Stock: are pre-sized from the manufacturer; the sizes are fixed and cannot be changed. Since the sizes cannot be customized, that means they are less versatile for your home or business.
Semi-Custom: provides you with a broad selection of cabinets as well as different measurements. The benefit of semi-custom is they usually include the pricing of installation in the base price.
